Just eight miles south of downtown Portland, Lake Oswego isn’t a small town, but rather a thriving city and still growing. The area holds the third best school district, affordable homes and safe environment for families looking to settle. The Oregon State Department of Education awarded all schools with in Lake Oswego a grade of “Outstanding” for the year 2011–2012. Its neighbor, West Linn, is quite the opposite of Lake Oswego. Rather than a thriving city, it’s known to be a quiet community, ideal for raising a family. The area has older homes and well established community neighborhoods. Eight miles to the north, residents can make their living outside the city limits.
